Ingredients to make caramelized onion:
2 units of onion
1 tablespoon of oil
2 tablespoons of brown sugar
2 teaspoons of balsamic vinegar from Modena
ADDITIONAL CHARACTERISTICS: Cheap cost, fried

Ingredients to make caramelized onion:

1. We start preparing the ingredients, always make sure before nothing is missing!

2. The first thing we are going to do is peel the onions and cut them to taste. It is recommended to make small or fine pieces. In this case we have chosen to make fine sheets.

3. We put the drizzle of oil in the pan and add the onion when it is hot. We are going to cook throughout the recipe over medium heat. We will have the onion in the pan between 20 and 25 minutes covered and we will uncover only to move and make sure it does not stick (it is difficult over medium-low heat).

4. When we see that the onion is transparent (poach) we are going to add the sugar and we can raise the heat one point (do not pass that you are going to burn the caramel!). We are going to have it about 10-15 more minutes until it costs a bit of moving.

5. At this point our onion will have already changed slightly color, we can lower the heat as it was at the beginning.

6. And we add the Modena vinegar, about two teaspoons that will help the caramel not solidify and keep it in the fire another 10 minutes approximately to soften the flavor of vinegar.

7. After these 10 minutes we already have our onion confined up. As seen in the photo, it has obscured a little more.

8. And we already have it! It is always good to do a little more, since even if you are not going to use it, you can keep the caramelized onion for a few days in the fridge or freeze it in small doses. We advise you to visit our caramelized onion cream recipe, its a delight!
