Formentera Payesa Salad Recipe

The Payesa de Formentera salad is a very popular dish, which was traditionally preparing with the few resources on the island in times of shortage: vegetables, potato, bread and some dry fish if there was luck. Ingredients to make Payesa de Formentera salad:
1 cod fillet
4 units of tomato
2 units of green pepper
2 units of red peppers
3 units of potatoes
1 handful of bread
1 jet of oil
1 pinch of salt
1 pinch of black pepper

Ingredients to make Payesa de Formentera salad:

1. We prepare the ingredients for this vegetable salad with fish. The cod is already desalted, while the bread can be somewhat dry. The red peppers are already roasted, while the green will be used raw, to obtain a good texture contrast.





2. We boiled the cod spine for a few minutes and reserved it on a plate.





3. The potatoes, after washing, peeling them and choping them, we will also boil them with water.





4. In a large bowl we pour the potatoes already cooked and add the bread, which we will have chopped into daditos. Watch everything with oil so that the bread is moistening.





5. Next we add the rest of the ingredients: the tomatoes, the green peppers, the roasted red pepper and the cod, all chopped more or less of the same size.





6. Mix everything well and ally with more oil, salt and black pepper to taste. The Payesa de Formentera salad is already ready. This dish can be an incoming but also works perfectly for dinner as a single dish. Bon Appetite!
