Ingredients to make macaroni cake:

1. The first thing we are going to do is take a pot with sufficient capacity, fill it with water halfway, add salt to taste and heat it. When the water boils, add the macaroni and cook them until they are at the dente.





2. When they are ready, we drain with a strainer and drop some cold water on the pasta to prevent it from sticking. We reserve it and continue with the macaroni cake recipe.

3. In a separate pan, heat the oil and fry the chopped onion for 3 minutes. Then, add the tomato and paprika, and move so that it does not stick. We fry everything for 3 more minutes. At this point, we can already preheat the oven to 200 ºC, with the grill or heat function only above. 4. When the sauce is ready, we remove it from the heat and reserve it for later. Now, we take another pot and dissolve the cornstarch in cold milk, add some salt and pepper and cook everything while moving, until thickens. For this step, we recommend using a wooden or spatula spoon.

5. Once the salsa thickens, we incorporate the anterior onion sauce, the drained macaroni, the cheese and the beaten eggs. We remove everything to make the mass of the macaroni cake and heat for a few seconds. We can use the type of cheese that we like the most, from Parmesan to Emmental.

6. We pour the preparation on a previously greased mold and bake the macaroni cake for 20-30 minutes, or until the cake is brown. If you want, you can add more grated cheese across the surface so that the cake is even more crisp.
