Portuguese milk rice recipe with Thermomix

Ingredients to make Portuguese milk with thermomix:
1½ liters of whole milk
200 grams of rice
1 orange unit (only the peel)
1 lemon unit (only the peel)
1 branch of cinnamon
1 pinch of salt
200 grams of sugar (1 cup)


4 egg yolks units

Ingredients to make Portuguese milk with thermomix:

1. The first thing you should do to prepare this recipe with Thermomix is to cook the rice. To do this, for each cup of rice add two of water in a pot. Put it to warm up and when it breaks to boil, incorporate the rice and let it cook until it is al dente. Then drain it and reserve.

2. Place the butterfly in the thermomix blades and pour all the ingredients except sugar and egg yolks.

3. Now, program the machine for 50 minutes at 90ºC and speed 1. When five minutes are missing, for the Thermomix, add the sugar and the previously beaten yolks and return to resume the programming.

4. When ready, pour the rice with Portuguese milk in a large container or individual bowls and, once cold, sprinkle ground cinnamon and decorate with a branch and, if you wish, lemon or orange peel.





5. Another totally valid option is to sprinkle sugar and burn it with a special plate for desserts. Then, you can bake the rice with milk for 30 minutes at 200ºC. This dessert is customary to serve cold.
