Melcocha recipe

In a pot on moderate fire, stir the water with butter and sugar until it dissolves.

Ingredients to make melcocha:
Melcocha
1 cup of water
2 cups of sugar
4 tablespoons of butter
1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
anise
mint or lemon peel (one of these products is used)
colorante red.

2. Keep cooking over low heat, until a few drops in a glass of cold water form a soft brown strand.

3. Pour the melcocha on a tray or greased marble, let it cool enough to handle it, add the vanilla or mint and vegetable coloring for drops.

4. Spread butter in the hands, have the melcocha, double and pull again twisting it until it is creamy and almost solid.

5. cut in pieces or make long bars and wrap on cellophane paper.
