Ingredients to make tejocote sweet:
1. To start the Dulce de Tejocote recipe, wash the tejocots very well. Then, boil water in a pot and, when it is boiling, add the tejocots and let them boil only for 3 minutes.
2. After 3 minutes, place the tissues in a container with cold water. You will notice that they wrinkle a little and this will be the perfect time to start peeling them.
Trick: Many people make the tejocote sweet with Guayaba, in this case, you should only add the desired amount of fruit (also peeled).
3. Boil 1 liter of water in another pot, add the sugar, cinnamon sprig, the teaspoon of vanilla and the previously peeled tissues and cook over medium heat for 40 minutes. Move constantly so that the tejocote candy does not burn. After the cooking time, let the preparation cool and rest for 2 hours to settle the flavors.
Trick: If you prefer, you can make the tejocote sweet with piloncillo instead of sugar.
