Nutritional components of milk kefir

The kefir is a type of yogurt that is fermented thanks to the action of yeast and bacteria called lactobacilos. It can be prepared with animal or vegetable milk, but the result will always be a slightly more acidic yogurt than we commonly know. It comes from the Caucasus region and has been consumed for thousands of years. Milk kefir is very nutritious and, in addition to being a medicinal drink, it is also a very valuable food for our body. For this reason, we should know the nutritional value of milk kefir (this composition is calculated for every 175 ml of kefir milk):- Calcium: 20 percent of the recommended daily amount (CDR)

– Phosphorus: 20 CDR percent

– Vitamin B2: 19 CDR percent

– Vitamin B12: 14 CDR percent

– Magnesium: 5 CDR percent

– Carbohydrates: 7.8 grams.

– Proteins: 6 grams

– Fat: 3-6 grams (depending on the type of milk)

How to drink kefir milk

To enjoy all the power of probiotic foods, it is important to let your body adapt to the microorganisms of these foods. Therefore, the ideal is to incorporate this type of food gradually into your daily diet. To do so, you must consume the milk kefir in the appropriate portion, we explain it to you:- First dose: 100 ml daily. You can distribute them in two portions. You must ingest both portions in the morning, because the dairy is more digestible during the early hours of the day.

– The dose rises to 500 ml daily. To the extent that you notice how your digestion improves, you can take 2 250 ml glasses in the morning.

– First dose for children: 25 ml a day. Children can consume kefir, but the preparation must have only one day of fermentation.

– The dose can be raised to 200 ml in children. After the initial stage of adaptation, the child can consume 200 ml per day, distributed in two rations of 100 ml each. Remember: Before starting to give a child, you must consult with his pediatrician.







Milk kefir contraindications

If you eat the kefir in moderation, it is unlikely that some side effect arises, but always keep in mind that it is a medicinal drink. If, for some reason, you exceed the consumption of kefir, this can cause cramps or even constipation.
