Coffee with spirulina

A good coffee is a perfect beginning of a busy day. Coffee stimulates the nervous system and keeps you alert and improves physical and mental performance. In this recipe I want to share a trick that is being used more and more to make your coffee even more nutritious. It is about adding a bit of spirulina powder, a blue-green algae highlighted for its health properties and benefits. With just one teaspoon you can obtain an extra contribution of vegetable protein, vitamins, minerals and essential amino acids. Ingredients to make coffee with spirulina:
2 teaspoons of coffee (with caffeine or decaffeinated)
2 teaspoons of spirulina powder
2 cups of soy milk (or other type)

Ingredients to make coffee with spirulina:

1. In a saucepan, put soy milk (I used soy milk with cocoa to give it a touch of chocolate flavor), coffee and spirulina.



Trick: As vegetable milks often have sugary I have not added any extra sweeteners.

2. Take the milk to a boil and let it boil a little. Turn off the fire and let the coffee rest for several minutes. Then pass the coffee through a strainer and serve in cups.
