Salado Pretzels Recipe

Although the origin of these salty breads, Pretzels or Bretzels is located in Germany, it is also common But this is the version with soft crumb bread that I share this time with recipes, and although it is not the original German prescription of Pretzels they are equally rich. The special form of the salty pretzels is due to the Celtic festivities at the beginning of the spring, just in the sign of Aries, and its form simulates the horns of the ram that represents this sign.

Ingredients to make salty pretzels:
For yeast ::
100 grams of strength flour
5 grams of fresh bakers yeast
80 milliliters of warm water
For the dough ::
300 grams of strength flour
70 milliliters of warm water
5 grams of fresh bakers yeast
1 tablespoon of sugar glas
1 pinch of salt
50 milliliters of sunflower oil
1 egg beaten

Ingredients to make salty pretzels:

1. To make this type of salty bretzels or pretzels, we will first make a mass of yeast: to do so mix the 100 g of flour (sifted), the 5 g of crumbled bakers yeast and the 80 ml of warm water. Cover with a cloth and let ferment in a warm place for 1 hour.





2. After this time, we will prepare the dough for the Bretzel or Pretzel: Salage the 300 g of flour in a wide bowl, make a hole in the center and incorporate the 70 ml of warm water, the crumbled yeast, the tablespoon of dessert of Glas sugar and a pinch of salt. Mix everything with a spoon.





3. Add the yeast mass that we had reserved and then the 50 ml of sunflower oil. Knead well with the hands until the dough is uniform and does not stick to the hands.



Trick: If a kitchen robot is used to knead, do it until the dough is completely taken from the walls.





4. Cover the mass of salty pretzels with a cloth moistened in water and let stand 15 minutes in a warm place.





5. And it was time to shape the Bretzels or Salada Pretzels: to line a plate with baking paper. Cut the dough into 5 equal pieces. Extend each piece until you have a cord about 40 cm long. Make the tips a little thinner. Cross the limbs and fold them inwards as I show you in the photo.





6. Preheat the oven to 200º C. Place a bowl with water at the base of the oven to release water vapor and create an adequate atmosphere for baking. Brush the Bretzels with beaten egg, sprinkle with a little fat salt to taste and bake 15 minutes or until the homemade breads are golden.
