Recipe for Tortos

To make the cake dough we need a bowl to mix all the ingredients in it.

Ingredients to make cortos:
4 cups of cornmeal
1/2 glass of pastry flour
hot water with salt
1/2 glass of milk

2. Add in the bowl the 4 cups of cornmeal and also the 1/2 glass of pastry flour.

3. When we have the two ingredients in the bowl we will gradually add the hot water and kneading.

4. It is convenient to do it little by little, because if we try to heze everything at the same time it will be almost impossible to leave the compact mass that is the final result we want to obtain.

6. We make another little water and knead like this, until the dough is almost linked when we proceed to add the 1/2 glass of milk.

8. We leave the dough at rest for an hour approximately wrapped in a slightly humid cloth, inside the fridge.

10. Lets take a ball of dough, which almost fits in our bad.

11. Lets take a cloth and wet a little one of its corners that is where we will work the shape of the dough.

12. We put the ball on top of that corner and with the rest of the cloth we cover it and begin to give small taps on top of the dough to get it completely stretch with a maximum fat of about 4mm approximately.

13. And so we repeat the process until all the cakes.

14. While we put in a good oil pan and heat over medium heat, and we fry the cakes one by one.

15. When they finish frying them on a plate with kitchen paper to remove the excess oil.

16. And ready to eat.
