Traditionally, ham bread is a bread stuffed with ham, smoked bacon, raisins and green olives stuffed with red pepper. It is a recipe typical of Venezuelas gastronomy that is usually cooked for Christmas holidays. On another occasion, I shared the recipe for this traditional -style bread but in its vegan version without ingredients of animal origin in recipes. This recipe for soy and vegan cheese sausage bread is a different version that I have prepared for these parties. Chorizo filling is made of textured soybeans and vegan cheese is also homemade (you can find the respective recipes in my profile), although you can use any commercial cheese brand. It is a perfect and very tasty recipe to serve at your Christmas table, on New Years Eve or simply share it at these parties with your family and friends.

Ingredients to make chorizo and vegan cheese Christmas bread:
1. Make the lift mixture. In a bowl, it joins the powdered yeast, 2 tablespoons of wheat flour, 1 teaspoon of sugar and 100 milliliters warm water. Mix well and cover with transparent film. Let the mixture stand until you double your volume into a warm place. You will see that it is created as a kind of foam on the surface.
2. In another large bowl, bind flour with sugar. Make a hole in the center to form a volcano and introduce the already fermented yeast, mix a little. Add the oil, margarine and salt and keep mixing a little more. Gradually add the water, while stirring, to form a homogeneous mass.
3. Put some flour on the countertop to prevent the dough from sticking and kneading for 2-3 minutes. It forms a ball, put some flour in the container, place the dough inside and cover the bowl with transparent film. Let the dough rest in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
4. past the rest time, flour the countertop and pass the dough through the flour. Cut the dough into 2 or 3 equal pieces, each portion being a different bread. Shape dough balls with the cut pieces, put them up by flour and cover with a cloth the dough that you will not use.
5. stretch the dough with a roller in the form of a large circle not very thick approximately half a centimeter thick. Paint the circle with margarine without covering the edges, leaving about 2 centimeters on each side without painting so that it sticks when the bread is rolled.
6. In the part of the painted dough, place the textured soy, the raisins, the strips of the roasted red pepper and the grated cheese. Sprinkle with beer yeast on top to enhance the taste of cheese. Role the bread without tightening much to make a little space between each layer. Paint the outer edge with a little water to stick. Close the ends of the roll inwards giving them rounded shape.
7. Cover a baking sheet with baking paper and place the bread on top. Click the dough with a fork and let the vegan chorizo bread rest covered with a kitchen cloth until its size increases.
8. If you want the sausage and vegan cheese bread to be brilliant but you do not want sugar and a few drops of oil and beat a little more. Brush the bread with the mixture before baking and sprinkle some poppy seeds above.
9. Bake the sausage bread and vegan cheese at 180 ºC for 1 hour or more. Look at if it is very golden.
10. repeat the previous steps with the portions of dough you had reserved. You can prepare 1 large bread, 2 medium or 3 small. I have prepared 2 mediums: one in the traditional style with vegan ham, olives and raisins, and this Christmas bread filled with soy and cheese vegetable sausage.
11. Cut the sausage bread and vegan cheese into slices and serve it accompanied by a rich tomato and cheese salad, or what you like most! And to discover more recipes suitable for vegans and vegetarians, stop by my blog target = _blank rel = NOFOLWVEGSPIRION.
