Ingredients to make almond tiles:
1. We gather all the ingredients to make almond tiles.
2. In a bowl we mix the chopped almond, ground almond, icing sugar, flour and pinch of salt.
3. Next, add the butter in ointment and egg whites. We mix well until all the ingredients are incorporated.
4. We incorporate the lemon zest, mix and put the dough in the fridge for an hour and a half.
5. Once the dough is cold, we divide it into 2 parts and extend it into a baking sheet that we have previously lined with baking paper. We put the tiles in the oven for 10 minutes at 170 ºC.
6. We take out the tiles and give them cylindrical shape with the help of a roller or a bottle. We put back to the oven until they begin to brown at the ends.
7. Do not worry if these almond tiles are unequal, they are rustic pastes but the taste is delicious. If you like traditional sweets and want to innovate in your Christmas menu, you can try lemon polvorones or Andalusian alfajores. Bon Appetite!
